Description: Greyfield Inn |
The Greyfield Inn is a grand and graceful mansion located on Georgia's largest and southern most coastal island, Cumberland Island. Built in 1900 as a home to Lucy Thomas Carnegie's daughter, Margaret Ricketson, it was opended as an Inn in 1962 by Margaret's daughter, Lucy R. Ferguson. All guests enjoy a total "Package" rate based on double occupancy and includes your guest room, southern breakfast, picnic lunch, gourmet dinner featuring regional specialties, and canapes at the bar. Bicycles and guided island historical tours are available. Private ferry transportation is provided to and from Fernandina Beach. On this island time seems to have stood still. It all evokes a sense of serenity and oneness with nature that is restorative. The Greyfield Inn has become a favorite of notables, especially those seeking time off from being noted. One has the impression of "staying in someone's fabulous home"...TOWN AND COUNTRY MAGAZINE|
